How to Navigate Traveling By Plane

The main reminder about situations that potentially put us off track is that what matters most is what we do most of the time! If we are off track for a few days, that isn’t even a fraction of a percent in the grand scheme of life! We can always get back on track afterward!

Many don’t know that you can take solid foods in your carry on bag at the airport. That can be really helpful if you are going through airports that do not offer healthy meals. Any liquids over 3 oz will be thrown away so also keep that in mind! Here are some snacks you can bring with you.

  • Beef or turkey jerky or sticks

  • Quest Protein Chips

    • My favorites are the tortilla style (nacho cheese or ranch, chili lime. The regular bbq ones are good too!

  • Protein bars: snack size Fit Crunch Bars are my go to. (snack size are around the size of a king size snickers and are 190 calories where a full sized is over 300)

  • No added sugar dried fruit

  • Prepackaged already popped popcorn

If the airport that you are going through has restaurants, you can grab a healthy grilled meat and veggie plate, a grilled chicken sandwich, a salad with low calorie dressing and toppings or something like that. Some airports have a Chick-Fil-A or a Whataburger and you can grab a grilled chicken sandwich or a wrap or some grilled nuggets or a grilled chicken salad. Most have a little convenient store as well so if you forget to pack beef jerky, you can grab some there!

You can take pre-made protein shakes or protein powder in your checked bag. Any liquids you take on the plane, put in a plastic bag. The pressure changes in the air can cause your shakes to leak so having them in a plastic bag keeps you from getting protein shake all over your clothes! Don’t ask me how I know that! 😜
